Happy New Year!

I wanted to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! I was awake and in a pretty good mood for the start of 2009 and got to cheer with all of mom and dad's friends. As many reminded me, I will turn 1 this year! I've been enjoying the past few days of being at home, but I've not been sleeping well since 2 nights before Christmas. I've been up every hour or two at night and not really napping unless mom or dad are holding me. We're all tired to say the least. I did sleep ALL day at daycare today though - hopefully we'll get back on somewhat of a routine.

I'm still super congested and sneezy, but the doctor doesn't want to see me unless I get much worse. There is so much stuff going around that they don't want me to be exposed to it in their office. Not that I don't get exposed at daycare, but it is best to keep it to a minimum. There have been 2 cases of the stomach bug in my room at daycare, but knock on wood I've been ok. There are also some nasty respiratory viruses going around, which mom seems to have come down with, but again knock on wood, I think I'm ok for now.

I've been talking up a storm and have been laughing a lot more. I've been saying "gah" and "dah" for a while now, but have recently added "ooo" and "ahh" to my vocabulary. My favorite is oooahh oooahh. I repeat it again and again and get progressively louder. We're still trying to get it on video to post, so stay tuned.

Speaking of Christmas, THANK YOU to everyone for making my first a great one! I really enjoyed spending time with everyone and all of your very generous gifts. We've read a lot of the books and I look at the pictures and smile and laugh. We read a bunch of them on the ride home. I really like my dolls too, but am not quite old enough to grab them and play with them yet. I decided I didn't like the long car rides, though, so I'm hoping it will be a while before we do that again. I scared mom and dad pretty badly on the way home - I cried so hard I almost choked and they couldn't stop the car or get me out of the seat. They hugged me for a long time after we got home. Here are a few of our pictures from Christmas. Since the flashbulbs were in abundance, mom and dad didn't take as many as they would have otherwise. We've enjoyed seeing Terry's and Laurie's photos, but if anyone else has pictures, please send them our way!

I think my best Christmas present is that I now only have to wear my hip harness for 12 hours a day. I'm wearing it at night which gives me plenty of time to kick and play during the day, but I'm still pretty uncomfortable to sleep at night. I think we may have to have the orthopedist re-adjust the harness because I've grown so much and it's just not comfortable anymore and really irritates my legs. We also have to have an ultrasound sometime this month to see how much longer I have to wear it at night.

My cousin Jennifer goes to Elon and left today for a study abroad trip! I can't wait to hear all about it :) In honor of her, I wore my Elon t-shirt today!

On that note, I'm off to *think* about going to bed soon. Good night for now!
